Thermal Physics as a course has two parts: Thermodynamics and Statistical Mechanics. Thermodynamics covers the Three Laws, Engines and Energy. The Statistical Mechanism portion of the course introduces Statistics and Quantum Mechanics into the mix. This course is often done last in the Physics degree and for good reason. Take your time and it should be enjoyable.
